1. Beaded Bracelet

Beaded Bracelets are the new fashion! These bracelets are so easy to make, and you can do it with simple tools. You’ll be able to learn how to string on beads in no time at all, without any special skills or experience required. Learning different designs for your bead bracelet will keep these projects interesting through all of your attempts.

You will need:

  • Beads (I used smaller beads, but you can use larger ones if you prefer)
  • An elastic cord or thread
  • A pair of scissors
  • Ruler (optional)

Steps to make Beaded Bracelet:

Step One: Cut a piece of cord.

Step Two: Decide how long you want your bracelet to be and add about an inch then cut the cord again. This is used for both length and fit.

Step Three: Tie a knot at one end, making sure it’s tight enough so that beads won’t fall off the bracelet while wearing it.

Step Four: String your beads on the cord. You can do this by using a needle, looping it through one of the holes in the bead and then threading it back out another hole or just poking them on with your fingers if they have big enough holes to work as a sort of “eye” for your bracelet!

Step Five: Tie another knot over the beads, this time at the other end. Now you’re done!

Step Six: Repeat Steps Three through Five until your bracelet is as long or short as you want it to be!

Step Seven: Cut the excess cord off, leaving about an inch at either end. Now you have a finished bracelet!

2. Braided Leather Bracelet

The leather bracelet is braided and designed to look like a thick black rope. Very durable, it is great for someone who works with their hands or likes the rustic style of jewelry.

You will need:

  • Leather Cording (you can get this at your local craft store)
  • Scissors or a knife to cut the cord with (if you use scissors, try not to hurt yourself!)

Steps to make Braided Leather Bracelet:

Step One: Cut your leather cord to the desired length. If you want a bracelet that fits around your wrist, cut it so that when you hold one end in each hand and pull until it is tight enough to fit on your wrist, the ends are even with each other. Then add another inch or two for tying off at the end.

Step Two: Fold the cord in half to make a loop, and thread one side of the cords through the other so that they are now intertwined. Leave about an inch or two at each end loose for tying off later on.

Step Three: Begin taking your left section over/under your right section (your right section is the section closest to you, not your left).

Step Four: Continue this pattern until you reach the desired length. Tie off cord when done with a leather piece in place of a knot using larks head or half hitch knots (see pic above). You can also use an overhand knot but it will unravel if there are any tugging on it.

3. Paracord Bracelet

A Paracord Bracelet is a great idea for someone who is into outdoor activities and sporting events. It can be used as an accessory or survival tool.

Paracord Bracelets are also known as Survival Bracelets because they have many different functions that could save your life in case of emergency situations. For example climbing, boating, hiking, and even during a zombie apocalypse.

You will need:

  • A paracord survival bracelet kit or you can also use a parachute cord from your local hardware store which is cheaper but not as cool.
  • Scissors or a knife to cut the cord with (if you use scissors, try not to hurt yourself!)
  • A lighter for melting and sealing your paracord bracelet. You can also tie it off using an overhand knot but it won’t hold as well and will unravel if there is pulling on it.

Steps to make Paracord Bracelet:

Step One: Attach one end of the paracord to a solid object, tying it into an overhand knot.

Step Two: The length that you will need is determined by finding your wrist size and measuring from there so take your cord and wrap it around your wrist until both ends meet up. Make sure not to make it too tight.

Step Three: Once you have your bracelet tied, cut off the excess cord and use a lighter to melt all of the loose ends so they are sealed together. This will help prevent them from unraveling when worn or pulled on by accident.

Step Four: Now that it’s finished, take both ends in your hands and pull them apart, tightening the bracelet around your wrist.

You’re done!

Repeat steps one through four until you have made enough bracelets for all of your friends or family members who are also into outdoor activities like hiking, climbing, boating.. etc.

4. Paper Clasp Bracelet

A paper clasp bracelet is a simple and stylish accessory. They are perfect for making as gifts or to sell at craft sales and markets. Paper bracelets can be made with the help of your children too.

You will need:

  • Paper or cardstock (not thick like construction paper, but not as thin and flimsy as tissue paper)
  • Scissors or a knife to cut the cord with (if you use scissors, try not to hurt yourself!)

Steps to make Paper Clasp Bracelet :

Step One: Take the strip of paper and fold it in half, making sure that both sides are even.

Step Two: Take one end of your cord (we used hemp) and thread it through the loop you created by folding over the edge. Make sure to pull on the ends so there’s no slack left inside! This is why cutting about an inch and a half of the cord off is very important.

Step Three: Now that you have your paper strip threaded through the loop, pull on both ends to cinch it closed! Repeat this process for as many cords as you want to attach to the bracelet. You can do one at a time or all three if you’re feeling adventurous!

Step Four: Once you’ve threaded all of your cords, tie the ends together to make a loop.

5. Rubber Band Bracelets

One of the biggest trends on Pinterest right now is rubber band bracelets. They are easy to make, and a good craft for kids or teens who want something fun to do with their friends.

You will need:

  • A pack or two of rubber bands (Doesn’t matter which size)
  • Beads
  • Clips, hair ties, ponytail holders, etc. to hold your bracelets in place while they dry; you can also use straws instead of clips for this step.

Step One: You will take one rubber band and put it around your wrist.

Step Two: Take a second rubber band, loop it in half (so you have two loops), and place the bottom loop over the top of both bands on your wrist. Put the other end through to make an X shape; take that same end and pull upwards so that all four ends are now on top of the X shape.

Step Three: Take another band and loop it around your wrist as you did in step two, but make sure to put this one under both loops (the first rubber band) so that the second one is now slightly higher than the other three bands.

Step Four: Repeat steps two through four until you have the desired amount of rubber band bracelets.

Step Five: Clip your “bracelet” together with a clip, hair tie, or ponytail holder to hold it in place while it dries. You can also use straws for this step instead of clips if you don’t want to use anything that needs to be clipped on.

6. Friendship Wristband (or Friendship Knot)

Friendship Wristband (or also known as a friendship knot) It’s great for beginners, and it makes up in just minutes! You can use this wristband for several different things: we have seen them used as tags for gifts (a fun alternative to the traditional gift tag), they make great bookmarks, or you can use them as hair ties!

You will need:

  • Scissors
  • Elastic or Ribbon that is at least 12 inches long (or longer depending on how big you want the knot to be. We chose a thicker elastic because it was easier for her little hands.)

Steps to make Friendship Wristband:

Step One: Layout the ribbon or elastic and cut it so that you have two pieces. They should be 12 inches long (or longer depending on how big you want your knot to be.)

Step Two: Take one piece of the ribbon and fold it in half. Fold all four corners into the middle, making a triangle shape with no point.

Step Three: Take the other piece of ribbon and lay it flat across the top of your triangle, lining up one edge with a corner point on each side.

Step Four: Fold all four corners down over the bottom layer to meet in the middle. If you have done this correctly, there should be no point sticking out and the corners should line up evenly.

Step Five: Take your scissors and cut a small triangle hole in each corner of both layers. This is where you will thread the other ends through to tie it into a knot!

Step Six: Thread one end of your ribbon or elastic through all four holes so that they are even. Try to make them as even as possible.

Step Seven: Grab the end of your ribbon or elastic and tie a tight knot, making sure that it is in between all four holes! If you made the knots big enough, it should be very sturdy when you pull on each side.

Step Eight: Pull both ends to tighten the knot, and cut off any extra pieces.

You are now ready to wear it as a friendship bracelet or hair tie!

7. String and Tear Bracelet

String and Tear Bracelet is a great project for kids. It’s fairly simple, but the end result looks nice. If you’re looking to teach young children about recycling or reusing materials that are normally thrown away, then this is an easy way to do it! The pictures below show how much of a difference one piece of string can make.

String and Tear Bracelets are the next step up from braided bracelets. They take a little bit more time, but if you need to do something with your hands while watching TV or listening to music then this is it! You can make them as thin or thick as you like depending on how many strings (or thinner string) you use.

You will need:

  • String
  • Scissors and a Needle and Thread (optional)

Steps to make String and Tear Bracelet :

Step One: Fold the string in half, and make a knot at both ends.

Step Two: Make another fold of about two inches (smaller or larger for different bracelet sizes)

Step Three: Make another knot to secure it. This is your first “string” bead! Repeat these steps until you have enough beads for one wrist size. If you want to make a bracelet for both wrists, you will need about five or six beads.

Step Four: Once you have your desired amount of “string” beads, tie them in the middle with another knot. Then put one end through the other so it looks like an “O.”

Step Five: Make another fold around where the “O” is, and make another knot. This will be the loop where you can put your wrist through to wear it!

Step Six: If you want a clasp for this bracelet (optional), weave the thread in and out of beads like normal until about four inches from the other ends. Make one last fold around the “O,” then tie a knot.

Step Seven: Cut off the ends of the thread and use a needle to sew them back into your bracelet, or tie them with another string.
